Hello friends and family,

After a year of uncertainty and chaos in the world, I feel even more strongly that safe and stable homeownership for everyone is key to a better future for our communities.

Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity continues to create, preserve, and advocate for affordable homeownership, evolving our services with the unprecedented circumstances brought on by the pandemic and the economic crisis that accompanied it.

During the past year our dedicated staff have helped hundreds of homeowners avoid foreclosure by being a key administrator of federal funding for mortgage stabilization

We have continued to build and rehabilitate homes in neighborhoods across the metro area, providing first time homebuyers the opportunity to get out from under rising rents and overcrowded, unsafe living situations and to start to build equity through homeownership

My staff has been working with existing low-income homeowners to help them complete critical health and safety repairs

A continued commitment to our mission, vision, and values unpins it all:

  • Our Mission: Bring people together to create, preserve, and promote affordable homeownership and advance racial equity in housing.
  • Our Vision: An equitable Twin Cities region where all families have access to the transformational power of homeownership.
  • Our Values: Rooted in faith and community, Inspired by hope, Committed to anti-racism, Driven to innovate

I hope you'll consider a donation this year as I ride along with others to support our work!

Sincerely,

Mike

Into the mist

Chasing my friend Tom into the mist near Northfield on a 70 mile gravel ride last weekend. It's a great metaphor--we can't always see exactly what's ahead, but we need to have faith that we're on the right road and that we'll get to our destination!
