     The Hill Country Ride for AIDS brings together the best of Austin's vibrant community, and makes life saving services possible for thousands of our neighbors affected by HIV/AIDS. This is a great chance to be a part of our 25th anniversary and  a “Best of Austin” event.

      You will work closely with the Ride Director and the volunteer Production Team, and take responsibility for a range of functions including web site management, outreach, recruitment and general administration. 

     The ideal candidate will be a fast, adaptive learner, technically astute, friendly person, with a strong interest in social causes. You need excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to thrive in a team environment while also working independently.

You will have the opportunity to learn about the unique workings of a small, passionate, non-profit while personally impacting the lives of others. Work is primarily remote, with sporadic in person meetings.  From January-April, there will be a need for in-person attendance to many events in preparation for the Ride.   Time demands will be heavy during these months, while other months are slower in pace. 


Primary Responsibilities:


Administrative:

  • Maintain Dropbox and physical filing systems 

  • Assist Board Treasurer and Ride Director with monthly reconciliation of expenses

  • Draft routine and non-routine correspondence (donor thank you letters, sponsorship requests, social media posts, etc)

  • Draft grant proposals and reports

  • Assist Ride Director with planning of the Annual Ride calendar

  • Facilitate and schedule appointments and coordinate meetings

  • Prepare daily and monthly updates for Ride Director and Board, as required

  • Update OneCause website and other documents as needed 


Community Facing:

  • Monitor Ride-related e-mail accounts and respond to all inquiries

  • Assist riders and donors with routine issues on OneCause fundraising platform; escalate issues to support team as required

  • Assist to answer all social media messages and interactions with Ride Director


Logistics/Event Planning:

  • Help to oversee all aspects of executing Ride events from pre-production through tear-down (packing, load-in, set-up, etc.)

  • Assisting to lead volunteers during Ride events

  • Work with third party event production team as needed

  • Assist Ride Director in preparation of event materials and promotions

  • Purchase and maintain necessary supplies for Ride events

  • Work with volunteer Production Team to ensure event success

  • Assist Ride Director in filming and production of social media content


Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Highly organized with excellent prioritization skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Comfortable with in both structured and unstructured planning environments

  • Experience recruiting, organizing, and leading volunteers

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Flexible and adaptable problem solver

  • Team player with excellent collaboration skills

  • Flexible schedule during ride season



Flex Time: 

January through June: 40 hours per week; July through December: 30  hours per week

Vacation:  21 days vacation - One week must be taken during the month of August


Salary:  $50,000 yearly + Health Insurance.
