Hearing Aid Project

HEALTHY HEARING SHOULD BE ENJOYED BY ALL

For those who require assistive devices, economics shouldn’t be a barrier to hearing health. Driven by the missions of organizations like Hearing Charities of America, and through the generosity of so many others, hearing aids are now available to those who might otherwise go without. Join with the Hearing Aid Project to meet the needs of individuals all across our country.

THREE STEPS TO SUCCESS

  1. SIGN UP: Begin your journey to making a difference in the lives of individuals in need of a hearing aid they cannot afford on their own. Click the Start a Fundraiser button, and take a moment to answer a couple of short questions about yourself.
  2. SET A GOAL: Determine how much money you want to raise and be the first to donate! Every dollar of support helps others receive the gift of hearing. There's no better feeling than helping others.
  3. SHARE YOUR STORY: Use words or a video to tell your story and personalize your page in minutes. Then, use email and social media to ask your family and friends to support your fundraiser. Login to your participant center to find other helpful tips and tools.

PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HEARING AIDS TO THOSE IN NEED

The National Hearing Aid Project is a unique model and one-of-a-kind collaboration created by Hearing Charities of America (HCOA). It addresses the increased demand for hearing aids by providing hearing aids to low-income individuals on a national scale.

The project brings organizations together so that each fulfills a specific role in providing hearing aids to the individuals that need them. HCOA has partnered with the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences & Disorders at the University of Kansas to maintain and track all of the hearing aids in the program.

THE PRIMARY SERVICES INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT ARE:

  • Accepting and reviewing applications
  • Refurbishing hearing aids
  • Performing hearing health evaluations
  • Soliciting support and services from others who can help support the project
