Family Promise Hike for Hope 2024

Family Promise Hike for Hope 2024: Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hike for Hope?
For more than 30 years, the Hike for Hope (formerly the Hike or Bike) has brought together people of all ages in support of the parents and children that Family Promise of Bergen County serves. All proceeds raised from the event will directly support Family Promise's programs, which provide shelter and wrap-around support to working families experiencing homelessness and those who are at-risk of housing instability.

When and where is the Hike for Hope?

The 2024 Family Promise Hike for Hope will be held on Sunday, May 5 at Van Neste Square Memorial Park in Ridgewood, NJ. Our route begins at the park, taking us for a three-mile walk through the heart of the village before returning to Van Neste Square for fun activities, giveaways, snacks, music, games, contests, and more! The schedule for the day will be released as we get closer to the event, so stay tuned!

Do I have to join or form a team, or can I participate as an individual?
Yes! You can sign up as an individual Hiker and still get to join in on all the fun.

How do I get started?
here to register. Then, create your own personalized fundraising page and tell the world why you're participating in the Family Promise Hike for Hope. You'll be able to share your page with supporters via social media, track fundraising goals, and complete fun, online challenges to earn activity points to earn prizes. Any team or individual Hiker (that is NOT part of a team) who raises $350 or more by Wednesday, April 10 will have their name featured on the 2024 Hike for Hope t-shirt, which all registrants will receive.

When is the deadline for donations to be counted towards prizes?
To be considered for Top Fundraising prizes or rankings, all online and offline donations MUST be received by 11 AM on Sunday, May 5. Donations can still be made to your campaign after this time, however they will not count towards final rankings. Prizes will be awarded after returning to Van Neste Square Memorial Park after our Hike.

Can schools, youth groups, and scout troops participate as group in the Hike for Hope?
Absolutely! The Hike for Hope is a great activity for kids and teens, and also offers an opportunity to earn volunteer or community service hours. Learn more here.
