The tennis event is a doubles up/down format, but no need to bring a partner, as you will be changing partners throughout the event. Prizes will be awarded to the overall winners of each flight.
Coed quad teams (aged 13 and up) will play in round robin pool play in the morning leading to single-elimination bracket play in the afternoon. There will be opportunities to play games and win door prizes throughout the day.
All ages welcome. You can sign up with or without a partner (we will assign one if you do not have one). Each 2-hour flight will include 90 minutes of timed matches in a round-robin style. Competitive players can sign up for the afternoon session which will include pool play leading to bracketed play to crown a winning team.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer’s Teen Ambassador Program (TAP) is designed to engage high school students with the Foundation’s patient families, furthering AHF's mission to erase the effects of pediatric cancer. The Hit It for Hatch series was created by teen ambassadors who share a love for sports, as a creative way for kids and adults to get involved in a good cause, fundraise and bring more awareness to the work of the Austin Hatcher Foundation.
Building on the success of the Hit It for Hatch tennis event in January of 2023, The Teen Ambassadors decided to expand their reach, adding pickleball and sand volleyball tournaments to create a series of events for 2024.
