Bed Race 2026 supporting Hospice Mississauga
Bed Race 2026

About Bed Race 2026

We invite you to join our 2nd Annual Hospice Bed Race: Grand Prix Edition on October 7th. This high-energy, community-driven event will bring people together for a day of excitement and friendly competition—all in support of Hospice Mississauga’s amazing programs and services.

Teams will decorate and race beds (specially made beds for this event) down the course! We encourage teams to embrace the Grand Prix theme with decorations & costumes of their favourite Race (ie. F1, NASCAR, Mario Cart, Marathon, Drag, Speed Skating, Bobsled, etc). This unique and engaging event raises essential funds and increase awareness about the compassionate care and services Hospice Mississauga provides.

Timing of the day
will depend on the amount of teams registered and will be updated closer to the event.

We are also introducing the following Divisions for added engagement.

Division 1: Financial Sector
Division 2: Developers/Builders/Contractors
Division 3: Community Groups/Partners
Division 4: Fitness/Health/Recreation
Division 5: Automotive Sales & Leasing
Division 6: Technology
Division 7: Other Corporate

This is a public event and all are welcome to come cheer on our teams and learn more about Hospice Mississauga.

The Need

Last year alone, more than 7,500 individuals in our community were impacted by our care or bereavement support services. The need is only increasing due to population growth, aging, and cancer related illnesses.

Hospice relies on the community for
50% of our funding.

Each year we need to raise:

$5,770 to support a full day of Hospice supports
$585 to support a child through our HUUG Program
$482 to support an adult with Hospice Counselling
$226 to provide a client with one session of Social Connections
$44 to support someone calling our Hospice Help Line

We continue to be present, here and now, as we continue to listen, and adapt our current programs to meet the every evolving needs of people who reach out to us for support. We do the best with the resources entrusted to us to meet the growing needs of our city and region.

The Impact

Our dedicated team of professionals and trained volunteers walk alongside each client, ensuring that no one journeys through life-limiting illness or loss alone.

The impact is profound as illustrated in this client's statement:

“Before my wife was able to get into hospice, most of my time was spent managing her care. When she got into a hospice centre, I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders knowing she was getting the care she needed 24/7. I finally got to spend time holding her hand and being her husband again."

We invite you to join us in shaping the future of hospice care in our city. By supporting Hospice Mississauga, you are helping us expand in-home care services, ensuring that more people and their families can access support where they need it most.

Hospice Centre Update

While the funds raised from the Bed Race are directed to support our ongoing programs and services, we know there is a lot of excitement around the new Hospice Centre that has started construction. We will provide updates about the build in this area and we will also give updates at the event.

Together, we have an opportunity to build not only a centre, but a movement of compassion across Mississauga. Should you, your company or community group wish to support this project, please email giving@hospicemississauga.ca. Your support is more than a donation — it is an investment in a community where care, dignity, connection, and choice are accessible to all.

THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING SPONSORS
