We are inviting you to be a sponsor for our annual local “Hope Starts Here” event taking place on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth. The day includes a keynote speaker, shared experiences by a panel of survivors of suicide loss, resource tables, art therapy, welcome food, lunch, connecting with others, and closing ceremonies.
We are pleased to announce Frank Campbell, Ph.D., LCSW, C.T., a national known expert on suicide grief as this year’s keynote speaker. Dr. Campbell has served as the Executive Director Emeritus of the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center, where he founded the National Suicidology Training Center (NSTC). He is also a volunteer Assistant Coroner in East Baton Rouge Parish. In addition to his volunteer activities, he is the Senior Consultant for Campbell and Associates Consulting where he consults with communities on Active Postvention efforts and Forensic Suicidology cases. During his more than thirty-five years working with those bereaved by suicide, he introduced his Active Postvention Model (APM) in 1997, which is most commonly known as the LOSS Team (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors). He is a past-president of the American Association of Suicidology and a
recipient of both national and international awards for his contributions.
According to a study by Dr. Julie Cerel, for every suicide death in the United States, there were 135 people exposed to each suicide. In 2020, Michigan lost 1,282 people to suicide, leaving approximately 191,295 people exposed to to a suicide death. Our families are not alone, our event is here to care for and support them on their grief journey. Your sponsorship will help make this a minimal registration fee event for all of our families. As you may know, many survivors have incurred hardships following the loss of a tragedy and it is our intention to bring them hope and healing without the added burden of financial stress.
Please consider sponsoring this event. If you have any questions about sponsorships or the event in general, please reach out to Jamie@srrn.net.
