Hurricane Relief Supporting our neighbors in need across 24 counties in North and South Carolina
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina

Did You know?

In addition to providing food to over 950 non-profit partner agencies, SHMETROLINA directly serves our hungry neighbors. 13.8% of our service area population, over 489,000 people, live in poverty including over 159,000 children and over 52,000 seniors.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Our neighbors know, when disaster strikes, Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina responds.  Without a strong network of both individual and corporate partners, this work would be much more difficult.  The impact in our 24 county service region has been significant. Communities in Rutherford County where the beautiful towns of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock have been destroyed.

We will do everything possible to service our region while at the same time maintain our disaster hub at our location in Salisbury (Rowan County). From there we will ship tractor trailer loads of packed food boxes and other essential supplies to our counties and to our neighboring food banks including Winston Salem and Asheville.

Please consider making donation that will enable us to pack the tens of thousands of emergency food boxes that will be needed to assist our counties and our neighboring food banks. Our donors know we will pack every day for as long as it takes to weather this storm together.

We are so grateful for your support.

How to get started

You can collect funds (cash or check) at your location or use this platform to host an online Fund Drive. The online platform allows donors to pay with debit or with credit card and issues a receipt directly to the donor upon completion of the donation.

If you would like to host an online Fund Drive, simply select “Join or Start a Team” (recommended for a company or large group drive) or “Start an Individual Fundraiser” to begin setting up your page. Once registered, you will have the ability to customize your fundraising page and share it via email and social media with the simple click of a button.

If you have any questions, please contact our Food & Fund Drive Coordinator, Megan Pierce, at mpierce@secondharvest.org or 704-805-1749.
