Since 1965, STOP Inc. has been a Community Action Agency that is a frontrunner in leading low- and moderate-income families to stability in Hampton Roads. In the last decade, STOP has earned a reputation as a leader in the fields of education, employment, housing, and health (E2H2), and as such, has been afforded the opportunity to expand our reach throughout Hampton Roads, securing our legitimacy as a connector, an innovator and a force for positive change throughout Eastern Virginia. 

Today, STOP continues to provide programs, initiatives, and services through our E2H2 approach to best meet underserved populations’ needs throughout Eastern Virginia. On Sunday, November 1st , The STOP Inc. IMPACT Awards Ambassador Campaign kicks off with five weeks of challenges, competitions, and prizes! Each week, you can participate in 1) an Activity Challenge and 2) a Fundraising Challenge.

  1. Activity Challenges are fun opportunities to catch the STOP Inc. spirit. Each week you participate, you earn a raffle ticket. At the December 3rd Virtual IMPACT Awards, one Ambassador wins a Trip Voucher to Antiqua (courtesy of Elite Island Resorts)! Don't forget to share your activities on social media (use #IMPACTAwards2020 and tag us @STOPINCVA) and get others excited about getting involved.
  2. Fundraising Challenges provide extra motivation to ask for donations and recruit new Ambassadors. Each week brings a new fundraising challenge and a new prize basket at stake. The more support you get for the IMPACT Awards, the more opportunities to win BIG! Every Friday, tune in live on Facebook to hear who wins and learn about the next week's challenges.

On December 3rd, we will put on a Virtual 2020 IMPACT Awards Program at noon. During this event we will recognize our 2020 IMPACT Award Honorees, Crown our Top IMPACT Ambassadors, Companies, and Teams. 

Asking for friends' and family support is easy. Once you register in our online platform, a fundraising page is created just for you, with built-in tools to ask for donations via social media, email, or text. The average gift is only $10. Every gift can make an Exponential IMPACT in the lives of the individuals, families, and communities STOP Inc. serves.

Though many are currently unable to come together in person, we're working hard to put on a fun and exciting event. This year's event looks different, but our community's need hasn't changed, nor our mission to meet those needs. Now more than ever, our impact is relevant, and our mission is urgent. We service more than 3,000+ representing several populations of low and moderate-income residents to include Veterans, Elderly and Disabled, Youth, Women, Business Owners, and Homeless and many others in Eastern Virginia. We reach them through our 22+ programs, services, activities, and initiatives. Each of these populations has demonstrated a need for opportunities provided by the Agency. So at STOP Inc., we commit to providing critical resources, offering support, and ensuring the well-being of the individuals and families we serve.
