About KIDS CONNECTED QC

Right now, there are hundreds of vulnerable children and families in the Quad Cities that are being severely challenged with coping in these times of a pandemic.  With traditional community structures being modified because of COVID, these children are facing fewer and fewer opportunities for emotional interaction and human support. Parents and guardians are being impacted by losing jobs or by challenges like trying to find child support so they can keep their jobs.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley needs your help so that we can continue to support our Bigs in keeping connected with both their Little, and the Little's family.  Between staff and our volunteers, we are regularly in touch with Quad City area families to check on their emotional well-being, health, overall welfare and any immediate needs they may have.  We are able to connect these families to the resources they need in our community to help them out during these stressful times when they feel so isolated.

Our organization and our volunteers will continue to find ways to keep connected with these vulnerable families and children.  Please consider giving a recurring, monthly gift, or any amount that you can so that we can continue to keep kids connected in the QCA, and grow the number of children we can help in the future.

Thank you for your support.

YOUR SUPPORT WILL HELP KEEP KIDS CONNECTED IN THESE CHALLENGING TIMES.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley matches hundreds of children in the Quad City area with adult mentors who help to defend the potential that we believe is in each and every child.  It takes financial resources to help our agency recruit volunteers, enroll them as Bigs and provide ongoing training and coaching as they grow their connection with a child.  We also need financial support for enrolling children, interviewing these children, their families and our volunteers to make sure we are making the best possible match with a Big and a Little.  BBBSMV also creates and staffs activities that help to strengthen connections over time and provide Matches with bonding experiences that help to build trust and friendships. Our staff also reaches out to Bigs, Littles, parents and teachers to make sure these connections are going smoothly and to provide coaching when needed.
