2025 Road Race

Camp Sunshine's Keencheefoonee Road Race is one of our largest annual fundraisers. This special volunteer-led event will be held during each week of Summer Camp on Sunday, June 8th and Sunday, June 15th. Camp counselors take part in a sunrise 5K run or a 2K walk to raise money that helps send children with cancer to a magical week of Summer Camp. Our goal this year is to raise $400,000 and encourage 150 participants to sign up and fundraise!

Named for the road that leads to camp, the Keencheefoonee Road Race was established in 2001. The idea came from a few counselors who missed Atlanta's famous Peachtree Road Race while they were volunteering at Summer Camp. They saw an opportunity to create our very own road race and use it to rally the support of their friends and family. Over the last 24 years, the Road Race has raised over $5 million!

At camp, children with cancer enjoy all the fun of a traditional summer camp in a supportive environment. A week at Camp Sunshine gives campers the opportunity to feel "normal" and experience activities that instill confidence, hope, and encouragement.​

Donations for the Road Race directly support the costs of providing two weeks of Summer Camp for our junior and teen campers. All campers attend Camp Sunshine free of charge thanks to your generosity.
