2024 Keencheefoonee Road Race

The Keencheefoonee Road Race is one of Camp Sunshine's largest annual fundraisers. This special volunteer-led event is held during each week of Summer Camp in June. Camp counselors take part in a sunrise 5K run or a 2K walk to raise money that helps send children with cancer to a magical week of Summer Camp.

Named for the road that leads to camp, the Keencheefoonee Road Race was established in 2001. The idea came from a few counselors who missed Atlanta's famous Peachtree Road Race while they were volunteering at Summer Camp. They saw an opportunity to create our very own road race and use it to rally the support of their friends and family. Over the last 23 years, the Road Race has raised nearly $5 million!

At camp, children with cancer enjoy all the fun of a traditional summer camp in a supportive environment. A week at Camp Sunshine gives campers the opportunity to feel "normal" and experience activities that instill confidence, hope, and encouragement.​

​Keencheefoonee Road Race donations directly support the costs of providing two weeks of Summer Camp for our junior and teen campers. All campers attend Camp Sunshine free of charge thanks to your generosity.
