Communities In Schools (CIS) of Nevada is part of the nation's leading evidence-based stay-in-school organization, serving 118 schools across the state.
We believe every child has potential – regardless of race, zip code or socioeconomic background – but may lack equal opportunity to succeed.
We place caring, well-trained, full-time employees in underserved schools to build trusting relationships with students and families, assess their needs and remove the barriers they face to learn, graduate and achieve in life.
We tap into a network of more than 120 local organizations across urban and rural districts to meet student needs – literally bringing Community into our Schools.

We currently serve more than 100,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade with varying socio-economic backgrounds. Our case managed students achieved a high school graduation rate of 95 percent in 2023, a remarkable accomplishment given they are among our state’s most underserved students.
