When Arianna was just four years old, she received a life-saving kidney transplant. In the fall of 2024, she began feeling more tired than usual, and routine lab work revealed concerns that led to a kidney biopsy. The results showed signs of rejection, and Arianna was referred to the team at MaineHealth Pediatric Cancer Care, Blood Disorders and IV Therapy for specialized treatment.
To help protect her kidney function, Arianna began receiving lengthy infusion therapies. What she expected to be long and difficult days quickly became something very different.
From her very first visit, Arianna found a team that made her feel like family. The nurses, providers, and staff didn't just focus on her treatment. They took the time to get to know her, support her, and ensure she felt cared for every step of the way.
"The team made me feel like family from day one," Arianna shares. "I started looking forward to my visits because I got to catch up with Megan, Shannon, and so many others. They care about the whole person, not just the treatment."
Thanks to the expert care she received, Arianna has been able to continue doing the things she loves most, including dancing and volunteering at Camp Sunshine.
Today, Arianna is sharing her creativity and her story as the 2026 Maine Children's Cancer Program Fund Walk T-Shirt Artist. Her artwork serves as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope found within our community.
