Miles of Hope Community Walk, Run, Bike for Breast Cancer
2022 will mark the 19th year of the Miles of Hope Community Walk for Breast Cancer. This event has become a staple in the Hudson Valley calendar and we couldn't be more grateful for the support we receive each year!
Our event was virtual in 2020. Last year, for 2021, we were able to gather again at James Baird State Park for our in-person event, but decided to retain our virtual, month long event as well. There is nothing like being together, honoring our friends, our family and all those who have been affected by breast cancer, but the on-line event provides an addition opportunity to those who can not be with us at the park to participate as well. Anyone can join the event and walk, run and/or bike, through the month of October. If you register for our in-person event you are automatically registered for our month long event as well. (ALL registrations are online, through this site, prior to the event)
We will host our Community Walk on October 2, at James Baird State Park, rain or shine. Opening ceremonies will begin at 9:30am, Walk to begin at 10:00 am. Our virtual event will be online for the entire month of October, breast cancer awareness month. We challenge you to: stay active to maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce your cancer risk by exercising every day, walk, run, and/or bike in Honor or Memory of someone, challenge yourself, your family, your friends to promote a lifetime of good health.
Our site will keep track of your miles and add them to our grand total. Let's see how many miles we can accumulate as a community!
Share your photos and videos and we can be together in spirit all month long. (all details below)
To date, Miles of Hope has given away over $2.8 million dollars in almost twenty years of funding programs to educate and support people affected by breast cancer within the nine counties of the Hudson Valley. Thanks to you, tens of thousands of people who needed a helping hand while in treatment, did not go without the care and support they required to get better.
Thank you to everyone who supports us and for helping us reach our fundraising goal.
Together, we all make a difference.
We can’t wait to see your photos and videos!
How to participate:
Our Community Walk, Run, Bike is an opportunity to honor our breast cancer community. Traditionally our walk route is lined with road markers; encouraging fighters, celebrating survivors and showing appreciation for those who support along the way. For our virtual event, you may print your "I walk for..", " I run for...", or "I ride for..." sign (under the register tab) and fill it in with who motivates you! Upload your photos and share your hero(es) with us so that we can all honor them together.
