Miles of Hope Community Walk, Run, Bike for Breast Cancer

For the past 18 years, we have honored all who have been affected by breast cancer with an October Walk event. Since we were unable to gather in-person last year, we created a virtual event to continue this tradition. This year we will continue with our Virtual Walk, Run, Bike, AND offer our in-person gathering as well. We will host our Walk event on October 3 at James Baird State Park, for those who wish to gather and walk together again. Rain or shine we will be there! Opening ceremonies with begin at 9:30 am, we will begin to walk at 10:00 am.

We invite everyone to walk, run and/or bike virtually, throughout October; around the neighborhood, in a park, in your town, on a trail, or wherever you are, to honor the fighters, survivors, and those that we have lost to breast cancer. For those who are comfortable gathering, we invite you to register for our Walk at the park on 10/3 in addition to the virtual event.

Our event will be partnered with Breast Cancer Awareness Month to create a month-long challenge! (But you only need to register once) Challenge yourself, or your family and friends, be active, and reduce your risk for cancer while supporting our cause. Log your miles, share your photos and videos, and know that we are still together in spirit all month long in October.

Even during the pandemic, Miles of Hope continued to fund support services and be a resource for our community. To date, Miles of Hope has given away over 2.4 million dollars.

How to participate:

You can create a team, join a team or register as an individual (12 and under are free)

Set up your fundraising page and share with family, friends, neighbors and coworkers

Print your “I walk for...", "I run for...", or "I ride for..." sign for photo sharing which are found under the Register tab.

Pick any day or days to walk, run or bike wherever you choose - there is no distance requirement

Download the free Strava app prior to registration if you want to log your miles all month (you will be prompted to connect to your Strava account when you register). Click here for a tutorial. Miles can also be input manually through your personal page: record fitness activity, + add fitness activity (green button)

Upload photos or videos of your participation! Photo sharing options are available on your personal page.
