    Why Participate?

When you participate in the North Jersey Classic to benefit the  Tom Coughlin Jay Fund, you help provide financial, emotional and practical support to families tackling childhood cancer.
  • Financial Support: Assist families with mortgage/rent payments, utility bills, food and transportation costs, and other household expenses to ease the overwhelming financial burden associated with a childhood cancer diagnosis.
  • Emotional Support: Host special events and activities for patients, families and caregivers to help ease stress, make fun family memories and take a break from the grueling routine of cancer treatment.
  • Practical Support: Support treatment facilities to improve the quality of life for the patient and their families.

  • About the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund

The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is named for Jay McGillis, who was diagnosed with leukemia while playing football under Coach Coughlin at Boston College. Coach admired the red-headed strong side safety for his incredible work ethic and intense play.

In the eight months between Jay’s diagnosis and the day he lost his battle with cancer, the Coughlin family saw firsthand the physical, emotional and financial strains the illness caused Jay’s family. Coach Coughlin vowed that if he ever had the chance, he would create a way to help families with children battling cancer.

    Thank you for your support!
