Antonia (Toni) B. Gallagher, peacefully departed this life on March 9, 2025, at her home
in Bel Alton, MD. She was 80 years old.Toni was born July 26, 1944, in Brooklyn New York, to Michaelangelo and Elinor (Cunningham) Bartolomeo. She graduated from the Academy of Notre Dame high school in Washington D.C. She married David Gallagher on May 29 th , 1965 at Mt. Calvary Church in Forestville, MD. Toni attended Strayer University where she studied medical transcription which enabled her to own and
operate a medical transcription business for more than 40 years. She used her
skills to facilitate communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals by
ensuring accurate complete and accessible patient records.
Toni spent all her adult life volunteering her time through church and various community
endeavors and helped shape the lives of many. She was instrumental in opening the
Angels Watch shelter for homeless and abused women and children, taught religious
education for many years, worked with various food pantries, and offered general
assistance to those less fortunate throughout the communities she lived in. These
actions instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of giving and serving
others. Shelived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending precious times with
lifelong friends, being an ever-present figure in the lives of her children and
grandchildren, enjoying family vacations and get togethers alongside her husband Dave
in their beautiful home in the mountains of West Virginia.
Toni is survived by her husband Dave and their 4 daughters, Victoria (Tori) Gallagher,
Jennifer Meadows (Kevin), Erin Lyddane (William Bush) and Shannon Blackwell (Wes);
son in law, Scott Lyddane; 9 Grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin, Jackson, William, Nicholas,
Luke, Ava, Michael, and Casey; 3 great grandchildren, Lorenza, Vince and Leo; 7
brothers and sisters and many other extended family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 22 nd at 11:00 a.m. at St Ignatius
Catholic Church, 8855 Chapel Point Road, Port Tobacco, MD 20677. A reception will
follow in the Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the National
