No Such Thing As Impossible Bike Ride Fundraiser 2026 supporting McLindon Family Foundation

The No Such Thing as Impossible bike ride fundraiser began in 2008 to support the Wheels to Succeed program at McMains Children’s Developmental Center. This program provided adaptive bikes to children with developmental delays and disabilities who may otherwise not have the opportunity to know the joys and freedom of riding a bicycle. The late Jairo Alvarez believed that all children should be able to enjoy this fundamental childhood experience and marshalled his friends and business partners to support the program through his passion for cycling.
Now in its 19th year, No Such Thing as Impossible, after helping to gift more than 230 adaptive bikes, has become more than just a fundraiser – it’s an annual celebration bringing together bike riders of all ages and abilities. Jairo’s son, Sebastian, and the family business, Alvarez Construction, have carried on and deepened Jairo’s vision to make an impact on the lives of the children of the Baton Rouge area and beyond. This year, the Alvarez family is pleased to partner with the McLindon Family Foundation to increase the ride’s impact and reach.
Participants in the No Such Thing as Impossible Ride will have the option to register for a 10, 40, or 75 mile ride beginning and ending at Pointe Marie. Additionally, there will be a bike route for children at Pointe Marie, food, fun, and adaptive bike giveaways.
McLindon Family Foundation
The McLindon Family Foundation (MFF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a year-round mission to provide adaptive bicycles to children with special needs, giving them strength, confidence, and inclusion of riding alongside family and friends.
19th Annual Benefit Ride
Participation in this event is both a challenge and a privilege. Each rider is encouraged to raise fund benefiting the McLindon Family Foundation, ensuring that every pedal stroke directly contributes to changing a child’s life.
The funds raised through this event are critical to achieving our goal of $60,000, which will enable us to provide adaptive bikes to children with special needs. Each adaptive bike is more than just a piece of equipment—it’s a gateway to independence, therapy, and the joy of riding alongside friends and family. By participating in the No Such Thing as Impossible Ride, you’re not just taking on a personal challenge; you’re joining a movement to bring hope, mobility, and joy to children who need it most.
What began in 2008 as a simple ‘Bikes for Christmas’ project quickly blossomed into a year-round commitment to changing lives. Since then, over 735 adaptive bikes have been delivered, each one making a profound difference in the lives of the children and their families. This transformation is made possible by the generosity of individual donors and corporations who have so graciously supported our mission.
We never tire of saying it: These Bikes Change Lives and also there is No Such Thing As Impossible. With each ride, these children defy the odds, forge new paths, and set their lives in motion. But the impact doesn’t stop with the child—it extends to their families, friends, and even the donors who are touched by the powerful stories we share. It’s more than just a ride; it’s a revolution of strength, confidence, and inclusion.
