How Your Support Makes a Difference
Your support of our team helps to cover the costs of the States and National experiences - entry fees, meals during competition, and transportation and lodging costs. These students have put in many hours of work, taking time to select a piece that resonates with them, developing characters, perfecting their performance, listening and implementing feedback. Their qualification to compete at this level is a direct result of their hard work and dedication. Additional funds raised will support the team into the future as we are already preparing for next year!

OLSH Speech & Debate has had a record-breaking year and we need your help!
Our team has been growing over the past several years with a current roster of 14 members. This year we attended 15 local/regional tournaments and 3 qualifier tournaments - and OLSH students have placed in the top 6 in their events over 40 times this season!
POST-SEASON SUCCESS! Six students qualified to the PHSSL State Tournament in March in the events of Duo Interp, Humorous Interp, Prose, Poetry, and Persuasive Speaking. Five students qualified to the National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) Grand National Tournament in Chicago in May in the events of Duo Interp, Dramatic Performance, Declamation, and Oral Interp of Literature. This is the greatest number of students OLSH has qualified to either tournament - and they are all freshmen and sophomores!
The opportunity to compete at the State and National level will provide a great learning experience for the team! They will hear presentations and receive feedback from students and judges from schools all over the United States. They get the opportunity to travel to a great city. They will represent OLSH on a national level!
