About Over the Edge for Child Advocacy 2026

Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, supported, and heard. Together, we can help
make that possible.

On September 26th, 2026, the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center invites you to go
Over the Edge for Child Advocacy. Join us in bringing our community together to stand in
solidarity with children who have experienced abuse.

As participants rappel over the edge, they symbolically step into a moment of vulnerability -
representing the fear, uncertainty, and courage children face when they disclose abuse. For
many children, speaking up means risking disbelief, retaliation, or losing the only stability
they know. This event offers participants a glimpse into that vulnerability while raising
critical funds and awareness to ensure every child has access to safety, justice, and healing.

We hope you will join us in going Over the Edge for Child Advocacy to make a lasting impact
in the lives of children in our community.

Together, we can send a powerful message to every child:
You are heard.
You are believed.
You are never alone.

'Going Over the Edge' for Child Advocacy

Many community systems are structured around the assumption that adults responsible for children are both willing and able to protect them. However, this assumption can inadvertently increase children’s vulnerability, as research consistently shows that children are most often harmed by individuals within their circle of trust.

This September 25th & 26th, join our community in “Going Over the Edge” to stand in solidarity with children who have experienced abuse. As participants descend over the edge, they symbolically step into a moment of vulnerability- a reminder of the immense courage it takes for a child to share their story. For many children, speaking up means facing fear, uncertainty, and the risk of not being believed. This powerful event invites you to feel a fraction of that vulnerability while raising critical funds and awareness to protect and support survivors. Together, we send a clear message to every child: you are heard, you are believed, and you are never alone.

Thank you for your support!
