Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

  • When and where is the event? The event will be on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Slater Memorial Park Pavilion & Dog Park. Located at 712 Armistice Blvd, Pawtucket, RI 02861.
  • What time does the event start? On-site registration opens at 8:00 am. The Walk begins at 9:00 am.
  • Do I have to register in advance? Pre-registration is encouraged, but in-person registration is available before the start time.
  • Is there a participation waiver? All registrants must sign a participant waiver – either during online registration or in-person at the event.

Dog Policies & Safety

  • Are dogs allowed? Yes, leashed-trained pets are welcome. Please, no dogs in heat.
  • What type of leash should I use? Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash (maximum 6 feet) at all times.
  • Are vaccinations required? Yes, all dogs must be current on vaccinations required by Rhode Island Law, including rabies, for the safety of all participants and other pets.
  • What if my dog is aggressive? Organizers reserve the right to remove any aggressive or ill animals. Please do not participate with any dogs that have a known history of aggression toward people or other animals
  • Do I have to clean up after my dog? Yes, you are responsible for cleaning up waste and disposing of it in the correct bins.

Participation

  • Can I walk without a dog? Yes, human-only participants are welcome to join to support the cause!
  • Can I bring more than one dog? Yes, but there is a limit of 2 dogs per walker.
  • What if I can't attend but still want to support? Of course! You can make a donation online to directly support the cause.
