​Our Legacy: We stand on the shoulders of visionaries who, twenty-five years ago, made a commitment to developing the whole student. With the creation of A Disciplined Life, they embraced social emotional learning and the belief that all students deserve engaging coursework, collaborative instruction, and forged a path for more educators to do the same.


​​Our Promise: We reflect on the achievements of our graduates, the talent found in our staff members, the passion of our communities, and the dedication of our supporters. We are leaders in this changing world, striving to be critical thinkers with strong character.​

Our Future: We celebrate the hope and endless possibilities that lie ahead for our students. Their successes, lessons learned, and contributions will inspire generations to come.

​Over the last 25 years, we have grown from:
  • 1 classroom to 5 schools
  • 30 students to 1,600+ students
  • 10 progreams to 50+ enrichment programs
  • 12 staff members to 250+ staff members

We could not have done this without our tremendous supporters: people who are invested in equity in education, access for the underrepresented, and the social-emotional well-being of our Chicago students.
