Celebrate 25 years with Perspectives!

Every annual Perspectives Charter Schools Gala if fantastic, but this year is particularly special to me, as I have the distinct pleasure of introducing my brother and friend, William Heard.  I've known William since he started his firm, Heard Capital, from the ground up and grew it into one of the largest minority owned asset managers in the world.  Perspectives is unique in the educational landscape of Chicago because it helps students from the toughest neighborhoods in the south and west sides of the city develop a value system that most of us take for granted. With the creation of A Disciplined Life®, Perspectives embraced social emotional learning, the belief that all students deserve engaging coursework and collaborative instruction, and forged a path for more educators to do the same.  William and I grew up in similar environments and the same principles (I'm a few steps behind William!) paved the foundation for where we are today. 

As a proud member of the Perspectives' Board of Directors, I have observed the impact our educational model has had on students. For twenty-five years, Perspectives has provided students with rigorous academics, individualized learning, field studies, enrichment programs, and a robust social emotional curriculum. Perspectives is committed to teaching the whole child.
