About Pittsburgh Family Fun Run/Walk for Epilepsy

Join us for our Pittsburgh Hybrid Epilepsy Awareness Walk, Saturday, June 26, 2021.

Our run/walk is going to look a little different this year. Our goal to raise funds and awareness to positively impact our epilepsy community remains the same.

You have the choice of participating in person at PNC Park or virtually in your own community. We will be following all CDC, PA Department of Health and Allegheny County guidelines to keep all of our participants, volunteers, and staff safe.

We will change our typical day of event timeline to:

In Person Participants - PNC Park

- To avoid lines, register in advance through this website.

- When you register online through our event website you will select a designated event time slot (8:00 - 9:15 am, 9:30 -10:45 am, 11:00 am - 12:15 pm). You will have access to our event activities on Federal Street and free parking during this time.

- Free Parking is available in Lot Red 6 on West General Robinson Street across from PNC Park.

- Go to either the Team Captain or Individual Registration Table.

- You will then go to the Prize Distribution area to receive your event t-shirts and other fundraising incentive prizes.

- You can then visit our information tables, participate in family activities and enjoy snacks from local sponsors.

- Due to gathering restrictions we will not have a closed course run/walk. You can walk or run at your own discretion on area sidewalks or on the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the river.

- Please take photos of yourself and your team and share them with us! Use #walkrunforone on social media or email cfulkerson@eawcp.org.

- Free parking is limited, out of respect for other participants please limit your parking to the timeslot that you select at registration.


Virtual Participants

- You will register as a virtual participant through our event website.

- We will host an online presentation on our Facebook page at 9:30 am on Saturday, June 26th.

- You can run or walk in your community park, neighborhood, or wherever you feel most comfortable.

- We will host prize distribution days at the EAWCP Pittsburgh office building (1501 Reedsdale Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15233) where you can pick up your t-shirts and other prizes.

- Please take photos of yourself and your team and share them with us! Use #walkrunforone on social media or email cfulkerson@eawcp.org.

All participants that raise $30.00 will receive a commemorative T-shirt. Additional prizes are awarded to each participant based on the amount of funds that they raise. Grand prizes are awarded to the top 3 highest individual fundraisers (not a member of a team) and top 3 fundraising teams.

All of the proceeds from this event will stay in western and central Pennsylvania to benefit our programs and supportive services. The EAWCP offers summer camp programs, virtual support groups, workshops, and education events. We also provide free CareShare respite program, emergency medication assistance, high school scholarships, the Oscar Project (providing service dogs) and help obtaining sleep/movement monitors. These programs are all aimed at supporting people living with seizures.
