About Pittsburgh Family Fun Run/Walk 2023

Join the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA (EAWCP) on Saturday, July 22, 2023  in person or virtually as we celebrate the 35th annual Family Fun Run/Walk for Epilepsy at PNC Park.

For participants joining us at PNC Park, registration and breakfast begins at 8:00 am and the 5k run/2 mi walk will begin for all participants at 9:30 am.

Mascots and local radio and television personalities will be on hand to lead the day’s festivities. It all begins with a run/walk course along the North Shore and the Three Rivers Heritage Trail along the river. Participants may then move on to a one-of-a-kind tailgate party where they can enjoy food and beverages donated by local sponsors.

All participants that raise $30.00 will receive a commemorative Epilepsy Awareness T-shirt. Additional prizes are awarded to each participant based on the amount of funds that they raise. Grand prizes are awarded to the top 3 highest fundraising Individuals and Teams.

All of the proceeds from this event will stay in western and central Pennsylvania to benefit our programs and supportive services. The EAWCP offers a summer camp program, virtual support groups, workshops, and education events. We also provide a free CareShare respite program, emergency medication assistance, high school scholarships, the Oscar Project (providing service dogs), help obtaining sleep/movement monitors and Project School Alert which educates students, teachers and faculty on how to recognize and respond to a person having a seizure. These programs are all aimed at supporting people living with seizures.

Why Participate?

One in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime, and one in 10 will have a seizure.  The EAWCP provides programs and supportive services to help children, adults and families whose lives have been affected by epilepsy. These programs include workshops and education events, virtual support groups, free CareShare respite/nursing services, emergency medication assistance, high school scholarships, summer camp, the Oscar Project (providing service dogs), help obtaining sleep/movement monitors, and Project School Alert which educates teachers and students on seizure recognition and first aid. These free programs are aimed at supporting people living with seizures.

Please join us in supporting the ones that we know and love who have epilepsy/seizure disorder.
