Power Moves for Power Soccer supporting Turnstone Center for Children and Adults With Disabilities

Before Power Soccer, David had never met anyone else who shared his experience of growing up with a disability. Joining the sport connected him with a community that understood and supported one another. It built his confidence, broadened his perspective, and gave him lifelong friendships. Now, as he prepares to compete internationally with Team USA, he knows that none of this would have been possible without being introduced to Power Soccer at Turnstone.
"For me, the community is really important. We all compete really hard on the floor, but as soon as the game is over, we are all one big family. Anyone who gets involved with Power Soccer can see that. They realize that it's a tight-knit community where everyone is welcome," said David.
Luke found his way off the sidelines and into the game through Power Soccer.
"Growing up I was the youngest of 5 kids. All of my siblings played sports and I would always be on the sidelines supporting them. Power Soccer was my avenue to play a sport and be competitive," said Luke. "It was my first experience with a sports community where I could build my self-confidence, which allowed me to move away from Fort Wayne, go to Ball State, get my degree, and become an advocate for disability inclusion through my work at The League."
