Race Rules Power To Play 2026 


Team Structure and Support 

  • All racers on a team must stay together for the duration of the race 

  • This is a non-motorized, non-supported race. Spectators are wonderful, but they are not on your team, so they cannot help complete challenges 

  • Wearing life jackets is mandatory for all waterfront and on-water activities. All safety equipment, including life jackets, helmets and protective eyewear, will be provided and must be worn properly. 

  • Racers must stay on designated trails and remain within the course boundaries. 

  • Racers are not to consume any substances before and/or during the race that may impact or impair their usual judgment and/or functions. 

 

Challenge Points 

  • The first Challenge Point (CP) teams must complete is the designated Starting CP listed on the corner of the Race Map. Teams will receive their map upon completion of the Start Challenge. 

  • After completing their Starting CP, teams may complete the remaining CPs in any order they wish. 

  • CPs can only accept a limited number of teams at one time. If teams encounter a CP at full capacity (except at their Starting CP), teams can decide whether they want to wait or continue to another CP and return later. 

 

Racer Bibs and Maps 

  • Racer bibs must always be visible on all racers for the duration of the race, except when covered by safety equipment, such as life jackets. 

  • Teams will have their Race Maps marked by the CP Facilitator(s) once they’ve completed that CP. 

  • Teams must present their Race Map at the Finale Check-In Tent to start the Finale Challenge. 

 

Skip Tokens 

  • If eligible, teams will receive Skip Token at registration which can be used to skip a CP of your choice. Please note: some exceptions appl– they will be revealed on race day. 

  • The entire team must visit the CP chosen to skip to exchange your Skip Token. 

  • Lost Skip Tokens will not be replaced. Skip Tokens must be fully intact when exchanging. 

 

Race Timing 

  • Race timing will begin at the Start Challenge and stop when teams reach the Finale Check-In Tent. 

  • 3:00 p.m. is the latest time that teams can begin a CPOnce teams have completed this CP, they must return to the Finale Check-In Tent to start the Finale Challenge. 

  • If teams are between CPs at 3:00pmthey must return to the Finale Check-In Tent. 

  • All teams must report to the Finale Check-In Tent. 

 

Results and Rankings 

  • Rankings include team race times and the number of challenges completed. 

  • If team decides not to participate in the Finale Challenge, they will be listed as Did Not Finish. 

  • If a racer is unable to or decides not to complete the race, the rest of the team may continue but will be listed as Not Officially Ranked. 

  • All racers must report to a race official before leaving the site if they are unable to or decide not to complete the race. 

 

If you have a medical emergency, please proceed to your nearest Challenge Point for assistance. Teams cannot proceed with the race until they are medically cleared to continue.
