Push Paddle Pedal 2024

Push Paddle Pedal FAQs:

Q: What is the goal of Push Paddle Pedal?
A: It's simple! We're here to motivate you to get MOVING!

Daily exercise is one of the most important components of our physical and mental wellbeing. And, at Turnstone, we're on a mission to empower people of all abilities to achieve their highest potential - which includes making physical activity a priority. This summer, get your move on by committing to move your body at least 1,000 minutes by July 31st. That comes out to only 15 minutes a day - we can do this!

Q: Who can participate in Push Paddle Pedal?
A:  Anyone can participate in Push Paddle Pedal no matter your age or ability because you choose to move in the best way for YOU!

Q: Why does it cost $25 to register?

A: Your $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt with the rest of the proceeds benefitting the services that Turnstone provides for children & adults with disabilities. NEW THIS YEAR: All challenge completers will receive a commemorative Push Paddle Pedal 2024 medal!

If you're not interested in paying the $25 fee, but still want to participate in the movement challenge, there is a free option. Sign up for "Just Fundraise" and once you raise $100 through your page, you'll receive the t-shirt!

Q: Am I expected to fundraise?
A: Nope! BUT, If you feel like going the extra mile (pun intended) we would love if you asked your network of family, friends, and co-workers to support you reaching your movement goal while raising money for people with disabilities.  We've even made a simple fundraising toolkit you can download here.

Q: How do we keep track of our minutes moved?
A: There are a few different ways to log your movement this summer:

1. Download the STRAVA app (create an account if you don't already have one). You can then link your  STRAVA account with your OneCause page (set this up by going to Mange My Page -> Complete Activities -> Push Paddle or Pedal Our Way to 80,000 Minutes). STRAVA syncs with most smart watches (click here for instructions on syncing your Apple watchGarminFitBit, and more!) . Once you download the app to your phone (connect your smart watch if you have one!), and sync to your OneCause Page, your activities will automatically upload from your smart watch or phone to your profile and track the minutes moved. All that's left is to start an activity through the app on your phone or watch and get to movin'!

2. You have the option to manually add your exercise activities to your OneCause Profile (Set this up by going to Mange My Page -> Complete Activities -> Push Paddle or Pedal Our Way to 80,000 Minutes -> add activity)

3. If you're more into a pen and paper log, we've made a printable one here! You can email your log to lauren@turnstone.org at the end of the summer.

Q: How do I pick up my t-shirt and medal?
A: If you are local to the Northeast Indiana area, we ask that you pick up your t-shirt from Turnstone. Our hours are M-T 7:00am - 7:00pm Friday 7:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Please come to the Plassman Athletic Center front desk (entrance B) at the following address:
