It’s that time of year again! Light the barbeque, take the day off and celebrate Labor Day weekend with US! This year students are once again leading the way to make more breakthroughs happen. Join us as we bring our most joyous and creative moves to our 3rd annual virtual event!
Register to run, walk, cycle - any activity of your choice, measured in increments of 30 (minutes, steps, miles - you name it!) Be creative! Invite your friends, and create your teams as we make our way to many more Breakthroughs!

Breakthrough Miami
Since 1991, Breakthrough Miami has supported nearly 4,000 Scholars to maximize their potential, providing unparalleled service leadership experiences to 2,500 Teaching Fellows and 5,000 Volunteers. Grounded by a vision for educational equity and a unique position as a bridge-builder across diverse communities, Breakthrough has grown exponentially in reach, impact, and recognition as South Florida’s Opportunity Generator.
Honored as 2023 Program of the Year by The Children’s Trust, recognizing excellence in youth development, and 2023 Program of the Year by Volunteer Florida in honor of outstanding excellence as an AmeriCorps program, Breakthrough Miami impacts more than 2,000 youth annually across 150 zip codes and 320 schools. How it started...
Hello! I’m Karlee Malloy, @karleemalloy a proud volunteer alumna for Breakthrough Miami. In 2020, we all had to overcome challenges, prioritize our well-being, and adjust to new ways of interacting safely from a distance. That's why I was excited to announce our first-ever Virtual Race, Breakthrough QuaRUNtine. That Saturday, we brought everyone together in true Breakthrough spirit to get moving and go the extra mile for Miami’s Opportunity Generator. We all registered and showed our SCHOOL SPIRIT.
Once again, I'm excited to announce our 5th Annual Race to Breakthrough! On Saturday, August 31st, we can all virtually show our support to our Scholars.
