Housing Assistance has been providing essential housing services and solutions to low- and moderate-income households on Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket since 1974.
Our vision is a region in which everyone has a safe, stable place to call home.
Our mission is to strengthen the Cape and Islands region by empowering individuals, fostering community connections and increasing affordable housing opportunities.
Since its inception nearly 50 years ago, Housing Assistance has served nearly 200,000 year-round residents through an array of programs and services that include: shelters; homeless prevention and emergency assistance; affordable housing development; weatherization; financial literacy; rental assistance and vouchers; and empowering residents to realize their dreams of home ownership.
Our most recent initiative, Housing to Protect Cape Cod, was launched in 2021 to encourage Cape and Islands residents to Speak Up for Housing and support initiatives that create and sustain housing that is affordable for people who make our region a thriving year-round community.

The Jewel Cobb Action Coalition (JCAC) is named for Dr. Jewel Plummer Cobb, a distinguished scientist who lived in Falmouth and worked at the MBL. In addition to contributions in science and education, Dr. Cobb worked tirelessly for a just society.
The JCAC is dedicated to achieving her goals for an equitable and inclusive environment. We seek to collaborate with residents, neighborhoods, and institutions in creating a community welcoming to all.
The JCAC is currently engaged in supporting ways to bring more affordable housing to our community.
