ROSEDALE RIDE RULES OF THE ROAD
WEAR A HELMET—This is a must. Gotta do it. Very important. It’s the smart thing to do, and your mother will worry less.

PLEASE BE POLITE—It’s not a race. Everybody will appreciate it. Respect all road users. Check out a few safe cycling tips HERE.
Plus, it reflects well on you parents. A gentle reminder that the Rosedale Ride is a participatory event that intentionally attracts people of all abilities.

ROAD CONDITIONS—Prior to the event, volunteers ride the course to identify major hazards. You still need to be on the lookout for yourself. Long story short—please be careful. This is especially important under wet conditions.

THE ROADS ARE PUBLIC—Flaggers are directing the RIDERS, not the traffic. All of the roads of the Rosedale Ride course are public, and will, therefore, be shared with everybody else—cars, trucks, farm equipment and the occasional dog or chicken. Please observe all traffic and safety laws accordingly.

BE AWARE OF THE WEATHER—Once you leave the Ride Start area, weather conditions can change over the length of the ride route and during the course of your ride. Please be aware of the weather and stay safe. Call us for a ride back in a SAG vehicle if you need to.

About the Rosedale School

By participating in the Rosedale Ride, you are helping the students at the Rosedale School, Austin’s only public school exclusively for children with multiple disabilities and profound needs.

Rosedale Ride has grown into one of Austin’s premier bicycle events with over 1000 participants. It is currently the largest fundraising effort supporting the Rosedale School. The ride has made big changes to the facilities at the school, helping with adaptive transportation, learning centers, sensory activities, and more.

Rosedale School is a public school in Austin ISD serving kids from all over the district in Austin, TX. Every dollar donated goes to helping the students ages 3 to 22 who have significant medical, physical and cognitive disabilities.
