31 years ago, a Rosedale School parent decided to unite two of his life’s passions — cycling, and his child’s very special school. All these years later the ride is alive and stronger than ever, hosting cyclists, neighbors, and fun-loving, big-hearted, Central Texans from all around the Hill Country. Everyone comes together for the love of the ride and to help support and empower the children, families, staff, and caregivers associated with The Rosedale School. Thanks so much for your support over the years, and we can’t wait to ride again.
Ride on!
The Rosedale School was founded in 1988 to serve students with disabilities from ages 3 to 21 years old who have complex medical, social, and behavioral needs that cannot be met in traditional educational environments.
Rosedale's experienced educators serve students in a caring, family-focused environment that has been tailored to provide educational opportunities that increase students' independence, improve their self-esteem, and allow them to experience a greater quality of life. Serving and empowering students who have special needs with love and respect, Rosedale is among Austin's most beloved schools.
Like many schools, the Rosedale School requires funding beyond the base-level educational allocations to support its students. However, with such a specialized school serving students with unique academic and medical needs, the need for support is even greater.
Seeing this need, The Rosedale Foundation was formed in 1994 to support students, parents, staff, and caregivers by providing them with the necessary tools to empower and celebrate the students and their families through funding for specialized equipment, educational programs, and meaningful experiences.
Now, 30 years later, The Rosedale Foundation remains dedicated to its mission of empowering children, families, staff, and caregivers associated with Rosedale School and the greater Austin community. Over the years, the foundation has been able to fund sensory rooms, buses, and assistive technology, as well as support the building of a new, purpose-built school. An award-winning first-of-its-kind school, it features an all-abilities playground, a living life lab, and a custom-built clinic in partnership with Dell Children’s Hospital that provides specialty services to over 800 children with complex care needs.
Thank you for your continued support over the years, we couldn’t do all we do without you.
