Because Marklund is a long-term care facility, 24/7 nursing care staff is onsite near the start/finish line. In addition, Marklund is taking several precautions to ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers and staff while at the event. These include:

• The Bloomingdale Police Department and EMS Road Docs will be onsite with medical services for the duration of the event, and every team leader – including the Race Director and Facilities Director will have their cell phone numbers.
•  Race Marshals will be positioned throughout the course and they will have the officer’s cell phone numbers, as well as the Facilities Director, Kerry Berg, cell # 630-675-3462 and Race Director, Natalie Sarby, cell # 630-596-6474.  A hydration station will be positioned with water at mile 1.5
• A First Aid station provided by the EMS Road Docs will be positioned near the hydration station with basic first aid kit supplies 
• In addition to calling 911, volunteers will have all of the above names and phone numbers in case of an emergency or injured participant.
