For the fourth consecutive year, Darkness to Light has proudly partnered with the TCS New York City Marathon as an official charity partner, harnessing the power of endurance and community to drive change in child protection.

Our evidence-informed Stewards of Children® training—one of the only adult-focused child sexual abuse prevention programs in the United States—has been proven to increase knowledge and change behavior. This November, our runners will take on 26.2 unforgettable miles through the five boroughs—driven by a shared commitment to protect children and prevent sexual abuse. Every step they take represents a belief we hold at our core: that prevention is possible when adults are equipped with knowledge, courage, and support.
Child sexual abuse affects every community, across every background and circumstance. An estimated 1 in 10 children will experience sexual abuse before age 18, and the impact can last far beyond childhood—shaping mental health, relationships, and lifelong well-being. These realities are hard, but they are not inevitable.
