About RUN UNITED 2024: Virtual Marathon
Let’s run a marathon together—virtually—to support children and families in our community.
Starting August 12 through September 13, Run United Virtual Marathon participants will log 26.2 miles (or more!) however they wish - walking, running, or rolling! This event is open to all ages and abilities. Throughout the month, we'll complete different challenges and activities, and we'll fundraise together to support students in Southeastern Michigan as they return to school this fall.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
1. SIGN UP
Sign up for the Run United Virtual Marathon and create your profile with a photo, fundraising and miles goals, and share why you’re running with us. Register by July 29 to ensure you receive your swag before kick off on August 12!
2. GET RUNNING
Starting August 12 through September 13, complete your miles however you’d like—all in one day or one mile at a time; running or walking; in your neighborhood or on a treadmill; solo or with your dog, kids or spouse. Whatever fits your schedule and preference! Log your miles using OneCause (under "Complete Activities"), or by connecting your OneCause account to the Strava app to have them load automatically.
3. EARN POINTS AND WIN PRIZES
Earn points by fundraising, posting photos, logging miles, volunteering, and inviting your friends and family to join. Every point gets you closer to some great prizes!
4. CELEBRATE
Join us for a post-marathon celebration! Once you register, keep an eye on your email for more details to come.

HELP STUDENTS IN SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN
MAKING PROGRESS
Runners, rollers, and walkers alike raised funds last year to support childhood literacy in Southeastern Michigan - resulting in more than 4,400 students receiving more than 22,000 free books for their home libraries! By helping build print-rich environments at home, Run United participants support literacy and lifelong love of learning!
EXPANDING OUR REACH
As students prepare to head back to school, Run United participants will run, roll, and walk to raise money for much-needed resources! By returning to school with a backpack full of supplies, books, and access to critical out-of-school time (OST) programming, students will be more better prepared for success in and out of the classroom.
JOIN US
By hitting our goal of raising $110,000 for 2024, we will have raised the equivalent of providing more than 3,100 backpacks to local students!
