About NFCC

Our Mission

NFCC strives to provide affordable and accessible counseling services to anyone regardless of differences such as age, finances or beliefs.

The Nick Finnegan Counseling Center Story

The Nick Finnegan Counseling Center was founded in 2008 and began as a ministry of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church (SLUMC). Several years earlier, an automobile accident took the life of Nick Finnegan and his dear friend Scotty Caven. Nick’s parents, Susan and Bill Finnegan, found hope and healing with mental health counseling and wanted that to be a resource available to anyone.

In 2009, the Finnegans partnered with St. Luke’s UMC to establish what would be known in 2011 as the Nick Finnegan Counseling Center. NFCC offers on-site and telehealth mental health counseling at a significantly reduced base rate of $95 or lower, through insurance options, and on a reduced fee sliding scale for those who otherwise could not afford treatment. Our growth since inception has been astonishing, now serving over 700 clients per year through over 8,000 counseling sessions.

Thank you for your support!

Each February, our advisory board raises money for NFCC by "sharing the love" they have for the counseling center, with their friends and family. All donations to Share the Love directly benefit NFCC's operations and allow us to restock therapeutic books, board games, toys, and art supplies utilized in therapy sessions; enable NFCC to host support groups and outreach talks at reduced costs; keep counseling sessions affordable for our clients; and produce a podcast and other mental health resources for our community.
