Snooze FAQ’s – Campsite Info & What to Bring

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Yes. Outside food and beverages are welcome. NO ALCOHOL permitted.

How many campers per site?
Maximum of 8 people.

How many tents per site?
Maximum of 2 small tents per site. No vehicles or pop-up campers permitted.

How big is each campsite?
Approximately 20' x 20'.

T-shirt deadline:
Shirt sizes may be updated until July 1. Registrations after July 1 are not guaranteed a shirt.

Age policy:
Guests under 21 must attend with a parent or guardian.

Where can I blow up my air mattress?

Most light poles along the perimeter of the camping zones have power. You may move your mattress to a light pole to inflate it and then return it to your campsite.

Is there electricity?
Yes. Everyone has access to electricity, but not every campsite has direct power access. If electricity is needed for medical reasons, please indicate this in your registration notes and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

What happens if it rains?
Snooze at the Zoo is a rain or shine event. Activities will move indoors if needed.

What if I need to leave during the night?
Guests may leave at any time. Parking lot gates are locked from 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Please visit the overnight Staff Tent in Zone 3 outside Restaurant for assistance unlocking the gate.

Can I camp near friends on different reservations?
Yes. Please add note to Special Requests/Accomodations, during registration and we will do our best to accommodate.

Can I request a specific campsite?
Yes, though requests are not guaranteed. Medically necessary accommodations receive priority.

Are animal buildings open?
No animal buildings will be open until 9:30 a.m. the following morning.

Will we still see animals?
Yes! Outdoor habitats in North America, Adventure Africa, South America and Camel Yard areas are viewable until 8 p.m.

Are there accommodations for disabilities?
Please include accommodation needs in your registration notes. A Special Events team member may follow up if needed.

When are quiet hours?
11 p.m.–7 a.m.

Do babies need tickets?
Ages 2 and under are free (no shirt or meals included). Paid registration for all campers age 3 and up required.

Can I buy extra t-shirts?
No. Shirts are only provided for paid guests.

Is parking included?
Yes, parking is included with admission.

When can I arrive?
Beginning at 5 p.m. at the Zoo West Entrance.

When are campsites assigned?
Campsites are assigned after registration closes, typically near the end of July.

Are registrations refundable?
No. Registrations are non-refundable but may be transferred to another family.

Can I shower?
No

Can I bring a grill?
No

Dietary Restrictions:
Meals may be prepared near dairy, wheat or nuts. Guests with allergies or specific dietary needs should plan accordingly.

Weather Emergency Information

Zoological Society staff remain in contact with the Sheriff and Zoo night keeper throughout the evening.

If weather requires campsite evacuation, announcements will be made in all camping zones and entrance gates will be unlocked.

Guests may leave at any time. Parking gates are locked from 10 p.m.–8 a.m. Overnight staff in Zone 3 outside Crust & Copper Restaurant can assist with gate access.
