Stop & Shop is partnering with Connecticut Foodshare by hosting a virtual food drive to support their Turkey and Forty Campaign.

In addition to the 3,000 turkeys Stop & Shop is donating, we’re hopeful that Stop & Shop customers will step up and donate as well!

Connecticut Foodshare’s Turkey and Forty campaign kicks off their annual holiday giving season. Over 50,000 Thanksgiving meals are needed to help our neighbors this year. A donation of a turkey helps provide a Thanksgiving meal, and your gift of $40 or more supports Connecticut Foodshare’s efforts to fight hunger all year long. Every $40 donated provides 80 meals in Connecticut.  If you prefer to attend a physical food drive, several have been scheduled the week leading up to Thanksgiving:

Connecticut Foodshare is the food bank serving the people of Connecticut and a member of the national Feeding America network. There are nearly 400,000 individuals in Connecticut who do not have access to enough healthy food to eat – and this includes 1 in 8 children.

With today’s economic turbulence, the needs of our community and the food bank have never been greater.
