About Stronger Together: Share & Care

We are launching this virtual campaign during Autism Awareness month to bring awareness to the mental health needs of people with autism and help everyone feel less isolated. Social distancing is good but social isolation is bad and can be bad for your mental health. People with autism have mental health needs just like the general population, and the lives of people with autism have been disrupted by social distancing too. Do you have a skill, hobby, or interest on a subject that you've been focusing on to to battle social isolation? Help others learn something new by sharing your skills!
In this time of physical isolation we want this campaign to help fight social isolation as well as increase community engagement and support through the sharing of knowledge. Everyone can teach us something.

 How to Share Your Skill

Register (no charge) and set up your page. Then make a short video sharing a how-to, an activity you can do from home, or an info session on a topic you know a lot about on your page. Once your page is all set up with your video share it on social media, encouraging people who watch it to show their appreciation by donating to AST. While the main goal is to fundraise, in this time of physical isolation we want this campaign to help fight social isolation as well as increase community engagement and support through the sharing of knowledge. Everyone can teach us something.
Check out the tutorial our Creative Design & Events Director put together, showing you how to set up your peer-to-peer page (see example page here LINK TO MY PAGE). Need help thinking of topics/skills? Some examples of topics include :
