2025 Summer Appeal supporting Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

Your generous donation ensures our ability to care for all of these important animals — to save and preserve their future, and educate our community in the process.
Contributions, of any amount, help us maintain the important work happening here at the zoo. From excellent animal care and conservation to engaging guest experiences and public education, we rely on your help to implement our important mission.
Please send what you can to ensure the continued care and protection of some of the most vulnerable species on the planet.
Have you heard the exciting news, Friends? Sage and Evie, the red wolves living at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, welcomed a litter of red wolf puppies at the Matthews Auto Group Red Wolf Preserve on May 3, 2025!
Although these puppies may look tiny, they represent big hope. With fewer than 20 red wolves living in the wild, they are the most endangered species of canine on the planet. Because the wild population of red wolves has declined so sharply, conservation groups are currently working with zoos, including the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, to facilitate the species’ reintroduction to the wild.
Like so many species at our zoo, red wolves are critically endangered. That’s one big reason why your zoo matters. By caring for endangered animals at our zoo, we safeguard the species’ continued survival. Our work with red wolves is a prime example of the vital conservation actions fueled by your support. Together, we can create a lasting impact for wildlife everywhere, including our community.
The survival of so many animal species is in peril, whether due to habitat loss, poaching, wildlife trafficking, climate change, and other destructive forces. Help us champion conservation efforts for the good of all animal species, from red wolves to Asian elephants, from Humboldt penguins to Panamanian golden frogs, from Amur tigers to patas monkeys. When you donate, you make a real and continued difference in the fight to save animals from extinction. Your gift sustains our significant conservation accomplishments, including the arrival of new red wolves into the world.
Now that these precious pups are here, today is the perfect time to make your impact. With your help, we will inspire new heights for exceptional animal care, wildlife conservation, and public outreach within our community and around the world.
Your zoo matters, and you matter to your zoo.
Can the Friends of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo count on your support today?
Always grateful,
