Thank you for registering for THE HUNT and supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Dane County! We are excited to have you join us for our county-wide scavenger hunt May 3-28. There is a lot of important information that will help you make the most of your participation, so please take 5 minutes now to read this email in its entirety (or flag this to revisit later!).

THE HUNT consists of two main activities that use two different platforms:

Fundraising for BBBS, which happens via OneCause, the fundraising website you just used to register.
Completing Missions to earn points during the scavenger hunt (May 3-28), which happens via GooseChase, a scavenger hunt app.

Now that you’ve registered, check out these 7 Steps to get started and be successful on THE HUNT (you can see more details about each step on our Getting Started Page).

STEP 1: Congratulations you are registered! If you didn't join or create a team please do so now.

You may have already done this when you registered, but if not, make sure you join an existing team or create your own on your OneCause page.

STEP 2: Download GooseChase (scavenger hunt app) on your mobile device.

Find the GooseChase iOS or Android app, and download on the device you’ll be using during THE HUNT. If you are on your phone now the links will take you directly to download the app when you click on it. Sign up as a guest or register for a personal account.
Once you’re in GooseChase, find THE HUNT by using game code VJ3X6Z or by searching for THE HUNT: Bowl for Kids' Sake 2021.
Follow the prompts to find your team, which will have the same name as the team you joined/created on OneCause. PLEASE NOTE: teams are uploaded into GooseChase once a day. If you can’t find your team name, it probably hasn’t been added yet, so give it 24 hours and check again. If you’re still having issues, email us at bordaz@bbbsmadison.org

STEP 3: Start fundraising and earn points for your team before THE HUNT even begins!

You can earn points NOW by using your OneCause fundraising page to ask friends, family, and colleagues to donate, just like they would for a 5K (or for our traditional Bowl for Kids’ Sake event!).

STEP 4: Find THE HUNT on Facebook and follow along for updates.

Visit our Facebook page, find THE HUNT on the Events tab, and click that you’re “Going.”

STEP 5: Pick-up your T-shirt

Stop by the big Brothers Big Sisters office 9:00am-2:00pm or email bordaz@bbbsmadison.org to arrange another time. Otherwise you can pick up your t-shirt on June 5th at the prize pick up.

STEP 6: Get Hunting May 3-28!

All Missions and points are in the GooseChase app. Your team will earn points by submitting photos or videos, checking in at certain locations, or submitting responses to questions. Harder Missions = more points, so strategize with your team to earn as many points as you can!

STEP 7: Celebrate with us on Saturday, June 5th
