These Bikes Change Lives Ride is the McLindon Family Foundation's annual benefit bike ride dedicated to raising funds to provide adaptive bikes for children with special needs.

The mission of the McLindon Family Foundation (MFF) is to provide adaptive bikes to children with special needs so that they can build critical core strength, boost confidence and nurture friendships, all of which help these children maximize their potential and participation in society.
These Bikes Change Lives Ride
This year’s event is a 75-mile bike ride starting and ending in New Orleans at Ochsner’s Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development on October 18, 2025, from 7am - 4pm. Participation in this event is both a challenge and a privilege. Each rider must commit to raising funds for MFF to qualify, ensuring that every pedal stroke directly contributes to impacting a child’s life. Register for the ride today!
These Bikes Change Lives Fest
After the ride, join us to celebrate the joy of receiving an adaptive bike at These Bikes Change Lives Fest. This fun post-ride party takes place in New Orleans at Ochsner’s Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development on October 18, 2025, from 1pm - 4pm. The These Bikes Change Lives Fest features a post-race speech, multiple bike deliveries to children with special needs, all you can eat and drink, local pop-up vendors, and more! What began in 2008 as a simple ‘Bikes for Christmas’ project quickly blossomed into a year-round commitment to changing lives. Since then, over 650 adaptive bikes have been delivered, each one making a profound difference in the lives of the children and their families. This transformation is made possible by the generosity of individual donors and corporations who have so graciously supported our mission.
We never tire of saying it: These Bikes Change Lives. With each ride, these children defy the odds, forge new paths, and set their lives in motion. But the impact doesn’t stop with the child—it extends to their families, friends, and even the donors who are touched by the powerful stories we share. It’s more than just a ride; it’s a revolution of strength, confidence, and inclusion.
6th Annual Benefit Ride
Participation in this event is both a challenge and a privilege. Each rider is encouraged to raise $1,500 to qualify, ensuring that every pedal stroke directly contributes to changing a child’s life. The ride is intentionally limited to 40 participants, fostering a close-knit community of dedicated cyclists who are passionate about making a difference.
The funds raised through this event are critical to achieving our goal of $60,000, which will enable us to provide adaptive bikes to children with special needs. Each adaptive bike is more than just a piece of equipment—it’s a gateway to independence, therapy, and the joy of riding alongside friends and family. By participating in the These Bikes Change Lives Ride, you’re not just taking on a personal challenge; you’re joining a movement to bring hope, mobility, and joy to children who need it most.
