Spin-a-day on the Ohio & Erie Canalway! Join us for a 25 or 50 mile bicycle ride out-and-back from downtown Akron on August 11, 2024!
Every donation made to the 2024 Cleveland Clinic Akron General Towpath 50 supports the Ohio & Erie Canalway Coalition's mission to develop, enhance, and activate the Ohio & Erie Canalway, Towpath Trail, and connector trails!
When: August 11, 2024 | Staggered start beginning at 7:30 a.m. (50-mile riders) and 9:00 a.m. (25-mile riders)
Where: Ride begins at the Richard Howe House in downtown Akron.
The 50 mile route will take you out to the Crystal Springs Trailhead (Canal Fulton) and back.
The 25-mile route will take you out to the Vanderhoof Trailhead (New Franklin) and back.
Who: Anyone who loves to ride, loves the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, or anyone who is training for a century ride!
Why: Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, National Heritage Area, connector trails, and public spaces.
Registration
Just click the Register button to get started! The cost of registration begins at $55 per rider. The registration fee will count toward your fundraising!
"What do I get with registration?" All riders will receive entry into the event including the bicycle ride, healthy food and water stops, SAG support, and lunch in addition to a commemorative Towpath 50 sticker!
Online registration closes August 7, 2024. Same day registration will be available for $60 per rider. Same day registration will be based on availability.
Choose your ride: 25 miles or 50 miles
When you register, you will be asked to decide if you want to ride 25 miles or 50 miles.
The 25-mile route will take you from downtown Akron to the Vanderhoof Trailhead and back. If you’re looking for a leisurely ride on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail with friends or family, you may want to try the 25-mile ride.
The 50-mile route will take you from downtown Akron to the Crystal Springs Trailhead and back. If you’re an experienced cyclist or looking to reach a new milestone in your training, you may want to try the 50-mile ride.
Fundraising
When you register for the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Towpath 50, you will be asked to choose a fundraising level:
$55: Receive entry into the event and a Towpath 50 sticker
$100: Receive entry into the event, a Towpath 50 sticker, and additional premium item (coming soon!)
$150+: Receive entry into the event, a Towpath 50 sticker, a Towpath 50 T-shirt, and additional premium item (coming soon!)
Complete your fundraising goal by August 2, 2024 to receive event swag and premiums!
Ride as a team or ride solo
Gear up with your family, friends, or coworkers for the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Towpath 50! We have riders who participate and fundraise solo and we also have bicycle riders form teams.
