About Push, Paddle or Pedal

September is your month to move!

Commit to logging 100 miles of your activity of choice and make a difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities in our community! Staying active is a choice you can make today to stay healthy while safely social distancing when needed. And now your choice to paddle down the river, glide along beautiful trails, or walk through your local neighborhood will ensure people with disabilities have access to the resources they need to live their fullest lives.
Your registration fee and any additional funds raised will ensure that people with disabilities in our community continue to receive the services and support they need most. We know that without access to these critical resources throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they are at risk of experiencing declines in their health, development, and quality of life.
Make the choice to join us today!
Register yourself or gather a team of family, co-workers, or friends across the country! Complete your miles and create smiles for people with disabilities.
Your $25 registration fee includes a t-shirt and token for a free beverage of choice at Hop River! We will be hosting a celebration at Hop River Brewing Company to recognize all we accomplished throughout the month of September. Join us on the STRAVA app to log your miles.

Why Push, Paddle or Pedal?

Making your physical and mental health a priority is more important now than ever. And with social distancing measures, being intentional about self care is something we can all do to navigate changes in our environment.

The American Psychological Association has shared a number of best practices for mental health care during challenging circumstances, one of which is maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

People with and without disabilities should find ways to move and exercise, as well as eat well and get enough sleep to help cope with the stresses of daily life and pandemic challenges.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP MOTIVATE YOU TO GET MOVING!

Complete your miles in any way you choose! Inside or outside; alone or together; online and off you can encourage your Push, Paddle or Pedal team and other friends and family to make physical activity a priority in their day. We encourage you to download and use the STRAVA app to log your activity miles - you can join our challenge here. If you're more into keeping track through pen and paper - we've made a printable mile log here!

And if you're participating in Fort Wayne's annual Fort4Fitness event on Saturday, September 26, or any other fitness event, include your training race day mileage in your Push, Paddle or Pedal totals! (There is still time to register for the virtual Fort4Fitness event by clicking here and choose Turnstone as your charity partner for an added boost of generosity!)

Every mile you log is a win for your body and mind! And, a
ll of the funds from your registration fees and additional dollars donated to support your miles will directly support people with disabilities through our programs and services while building awareness about Turnstone's resources and services in our community.
