Virtual Homecoming 2021

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate?

Anyone! Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff, Parents, Athletes, and Friends are all welcome to join the fun.

How do I participate?

Whether you prefer to be a spectator just looking to watch the live streaming of the games or have a competitive streak looking for a virtual challenge, we've got you covered!

  • Option #1: Virtual Spectators – Not competing in the prize challenge opportunities. Virtual Spectators can choose to just watch the live games and maybe check out the virtual spirit week activities just for fun.
  • Option #2: Virtual Competitors - Competing in the prize challenge opportunities.  Beginning Sept. 1, 2021, Virtual Competitors register on the Virtual Homecoming Event page to participate. A confirmation email will follow. An individual participant page will then be created. This page will track your points and top individual activity point leaders have the chance to win one of the amazing tailgate themed prizes!
  • Can you tell me more about points and challenges?

Individual participant pages are used to track challenges, activity points, and progress. There is a set of four virtual challenges including: Tailgate Specialty Challenge, Inspirational Professor Challenge, Wildcat Spirit Challenge, Participate in Spirit Week Challenge. Participants may complete these challenges anytime beginning Wednesday, September 1, 2021 through Friday, September 24, 2021.

A point value is assigned to each challenge. Some challenges, such as the Spirit Week challenge can only be completed in a specific time frame on a specific day. Other challenges can be completed more than once before the deadline of Friday, September 24, 2021 at 9:59 PM. For example, if you do not participate in the Spirit Week Challenge, you could still be in the running for prizes if you complete the Inspirational Professor Challenge more than once.  Please post responsibly. Inappropriate challenge photos or challenge videos will be removed by management and could lead to participant disqualification.

Social media points may be reflected on your individual participant page. However, it's a configuration default aspect within the system to categorize photos and videos and are different than "true" activity points.

Is there a deadline to participate?

Yes. The competition deadline to upload and track all points to your individual participation page is 9:59 PM on Friday, September 24, 2021. The competition closes promptly at 10:00 PM.

When will the prize winners be announced and notified?

All winners will be announced at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 25, 2021 during the Virtual Celebration Hour in between the live streaming of the games. Registered participants will automatically be invited to the ZOOM celebration, although, attendance is not mandatory. Winners will be contacted directly by email and listed on the Leader Board. Prizes will be mailed directly to the winners home following confirmation of notification. Note: Prizes do not have a cash value, are non transferable, and cannot be exchanged.
