Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for signing up to volunteer! Your participation is critical to the success of our event. We're offering a range of volunteer opportunities to give you plenty of ways you can get involved and show your support.
Day Before Set-Up:
Friday, Sept. 11th 1pm-4pm or 5:30pm-7:30pm
- Assisting with set-up of tables, chairs, etc. that will be used the following day during the walk.
- Place sponsorship and route signs for the for the following day.
- Gather/organize supplies that will be used during the walk.
- Time is an estimate and may be shorter depending on the number of volunteers.
Morning of Set-Up:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 6:00am-9:45am
- Assist with event site preparation before participants arrive.
- Set up tables, tents, signage, and event materials.
- Help organize supplies and activity areas.
- Ensure event spaces are ready and welcoming.
Registration:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 7:00am-9:45am
- Greet and check in participants as they arrive.
- Verify registrations and distribute event materials.
- Answer basic event questions and provide directions.
- Assist with day-of participant registration as needed.
Heads or Tails:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 7:15am-9:45am
- Sell Heads or Tails chances and encourage participation.
- Answer questions about Heads or Tails prize and rules.
- Monitor Heads or Tails collection and organization.
- Assist with prize distribution to winner.
Breakfast:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 7:15am-9:45am
- Help prepare and distribute breakfast items.
- Maintain food service and refresh supplies as needed.
- Keep serving areas clean and organized.
- Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines.
Kid's Area:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 7:30am-11:00am
- Lead and supervise activities for the kids that foster play and creativity.
- Face painting and chalk.
- Facilitate cornhole and other yard games.
- Time is an estimate and may be shorter depending on the number of participants.
Route:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 8:30am-11:30am
- Direct participants along the event route.
- Monitor intersections and key checkpoints.
- Provide encouragement and answer participant questions.
- Report any route concerns to event staff.
First-Aid Stations:
*First Aid & Nursing Experience Required
Saturday, Sept. 12th 8:30am-11:30am
- Provide basic first-aid assistance within training and certification limits.
- Monitor participants for potential medical concerns.
- Coordinate with event staff and emergency services when needed.
- Document and report incidents according to event procedures.
Cleanup:
Saturday, Sept. 12th 10:00am-1:00pm
- Assist with breakdown of event equipment and materials.
- Collect signage, supplies, and leftover items.
- Help clean event areas and dispose of trash properly.
- Ensure the venue is left in good condition.
