About Walk & Festival for Autism 2021

Thank you for supporting ASRC’s mission: To provide lifelong access to opportunities for persons on the autism spectrum with the goal of being fully-included and participating members of their communities.
The ASRC Walk & Festival for Autism is our primary source of revenue for the year - and it's a lot of fun!  We rely on the generosity of friends, families, and our community to help us with our extensive programming. We can't do it without your help!

    • This is an in-person event! We will follow ALL local and federal regulations for appropriate safety and social distancing!
    • In order to comply with state and federal requirements, we will hold 2 start times - 9 am, 11 am. You will select your start time during registration.
    • This year we are at a new date and location so we have a bit more space to spread out. Please note the date is MAY 23rd. The Walk will be held at the North Haven Fair Grounds in North Haven, CT. The Fair Grounds are centrally-located and provide ample space, with easy access from main highways.
    • 100% of funds raised stay in Connecticut to support Connecticut residents living with autism
    • Over 30,000 families, individuals, professionals, school personnel, and service providers have walked for ASRC over the years. Each year over 1,000 walkers join us.
    • We are the original Walk for Autism in Connecticut - since 1997.
    • This year we plan a rolling start, for social distancing throughout
    • Meet WTNH's Joe Furey in person, Food trucks, North Haven PD onsite/cool Police Vehicle, a socially-distanced classic car show, LOTS of open space, jugglers, great fun and OUTDOORS.
    • Please help ASRC by signing up, creating a team, and challenging your friends and family to do their best to help the Connecticut Autism Community.

PARTICIPATION IS EASY! JUST FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  1. Register as an individual, or Join/Start a Team: Friends, family, coworkers, partners, cousins, neighbors, brothers, sisters - ANYONE can be a part of your team! Let's have some fun with this!
  2. Once you register, a fundraising page is created for you with built-in tools to fundraise via social media, email, or even text!  While you are not required to fundraise, we encourage you to share our story, and our need.  This is our primary fundraiser for the year - and through your fundraising page, you will be able to reach out to your squad to help you reach your personal fundraising goal.
  3. Have Fun! Earn points and achievement badges for participation in fundraising, posting pictures/videos, and sharing on social media. Special celebratory prizes will be awarded for individuals and teams that have the most points, as well as those that earn the most funds by May 18, 2021.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

ASRC’s Vision is to prepare those with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) for the world, as we prepare the world for those with ASD.  It is a daily challenge, but with your help, we can make meaningful progress.

ASRC provides services, supports and resources to families and individuals living with autism, as well as to the educators, medical and therapeutic professionals and community providers who work with them.

We offer opportunities for parent networking, activities, social groups, training, advocacy and events for all ages, as well as responding to hundreds of families who are new to the diagnosis or who need guidance navigating transition and adult issues.  We do so much, but there is still so much to be done - and your support is vital.

The current incidence rate of autism is 1 in 54 (2019 – Government survey), and ASRC’s services are becoming increasingly critical. Your help truly makes a difference.
