As a whole, the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited institutions like Blank Park Zoo combat declining animal populations through 500 different Species Survival Plan (SSP) Programs. Here at Iowa’s only accredited Zoo, we participate in Amur Tiger, Japanese Macaque, Golden Headed Tamarin, Panamanian Golden Frog and Red Panda SSP’s.
