For the past 12 years, The WAVE Foundation has held a fall community awareness and fundraising event. This year, in an effort to keep our community safe and healthy, WAVE Weekend is going virtual! Please join us (virtually) for a 5k fun run or walk on Saturday, September 12 or Sunday, September 13 on a route of your choosing. You can participate as an individual or create a team.
Please help The WAVE Foundation continue our important work, including free legal aid to survivors through our Legal Hope program, by registering and/or donating now. Learn more about the programs we support below.
Get outside, have fun, be safe, and share your photos with our hashtag #wavesofchange!
The WAVE Foundation's Legal Hope program builds a community of pro bono legal support for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking. We partner with law firms and corporations to train their pro bono attorneys, connect survivors to the attorneys, and provide technical assistance and support throughout the case.
At The WAVE Foundation, we believe in funding evidence-based programs designed by experts, like Coaching Boys Into Men. Team Up Washington trains high school coaches to implement the Coaching Boys Into Men program and the sister program for female athletes, Athletes As Leaders. Both programs help coaches to teach high school athletes about healthy relationship skills and that violence never equals strength. As leaders of the student body, athletes have the ability to change the culture of an entire school.
Greeks Take Action is a student initiative to prevent sexual violence at the University of Washington led by sorority and fraternity leaders on campus. The WAVE Foundation funds an expert to work with the students to develop and conduct a prevention program for Greek students with the goal of changing culture campus-wide.
