The YMCA is a private not-for-profit, human service organization funded by membership and program fees, contributions from YMCA friends, corporations, foundations and grants. The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas operates 16 branches, an 800-acre resident camp, a 500-acre outdoor education facility/camp and 300 program sites across seven counties.
Our mission is to put Christian values into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, can learn, grow and thrive.
We offer programs with a focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility such as afterschool, preschool, youth sports, swimming lessons and water safety outreach, day and resident camps, programs for seniors, community health outreach, and programs for teens
100% of the campaign money raised through our campaign stays in our community. When you donate to a specific YMCA branch within the Dallas Association, those funds will stay within that branch. These funds help support free or subsidized programs and allow us to provide program scholarships so that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay.
Why should I donate to the YMCA? I already pay membership dues.
Your dues only cover the costs of Y membership. Additional dollars are needed to subsidize programs and provide financial assistance. The YMCA needs your support in this campaign to reach into the community and provide safe, high quality, character building programs for all.
